Hello world!

September 4, 2009

Hopefully you were sitting down, but yes – a Status Not Quo Blog!!!

Now that the blog has been created, I find myself with the unenviable task of figuring out what to write.  Personally this is my first foray into the world of blogging, and I confess to a high degree of skepticism.  How does one make a blog that is NOT … the Status Quo? (haha – clever eh?).

I figured I would keep it simple, and just mention a few topics that I had in mind when I decided to create this, and also who will initially be contributing (but please feel free to offer your services!).

Topics … well, anything that really impacts our business.  Hopefully most of it won’t be too boring.  Here at Status Not Quo, we help companies to bridge the gap between the Strategic Business requirements, and the Technical Design and Execution. Huh?  Well, defining that will be one of the topics.  In addition, I hope to dive into all sorts of exciting discussions about why Custom development projects success or fail; why are some IT companies successful partners, while others are second only to the IRS; where did the name “Status Not Quo” come from; what technologies are out there, and why should you even care; and so on …

As for the “who” … well, myself to start.  My name is Scott Capistrano, and I’m the Chief Operating Officer and part owner of SNQ.  In addition, I will coerce my two other partners – my lovely wife Pamala Capistrano who is our CEO, and Ben Loveless who is our Chief Technology Officer (not certain how excited they are about this little venture lol).

Please give me your feedback and comments – both the positive and the negative.  I fully expect this to be a significant learning experience.  But hopefully along the way it will be helpful for all of us.
