What to Write when you Have No Ideas and Even Less Time

October 15, 2012

So this week I’ve struggled significantly to figure out what to write for my blog.  Work is great, but crazy busy, home life is great, but crazy busy, & at the end of the day, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what I wanted to write about.  I looked on a few of my favorite sites for ideas:, LinkedIn,, etc., but was for some reason this time, uninspired.  I knew I needed to write something, but didn’t know what it could be.  So, lo and behold, I finally decided to do a Google search – “what to write when you have no idea for your blog” – again, I was fairly uninspired, so I thought I’d walk you through some ideas of what you can do when you need to write a blog post and have no ideas and even less time:

  • Brainstorm a list of the top 5 character traits in your employees & write why these are important to you & your company
  • Find a Quote, start your blog with this & then proceed to briefly tell why it inspired/touched you
  • Think of an area you need to improve in your own life, search the web for solutions for this issue, and write about what you found that you felt was helpful (remember to give credit where credit is due)
  • Make a list of 3 things you can do to make your clients/co-workers/family feel special and appreciated.  Write about your plan to accomplish this.
  • Write about a great customer service experience you’ve recently experienced.  Tell why it impressed you and how you might apply this experience to the way you deliver customer service that exceeds the status quo

So, next time you are struggling with ideas for your blog, stop by here for a few ideas that may help inspire you towards the best blog post you’ve ever written.

Thanks for visiting.
